1. Inform Others

All - Inform Others - Organise - Contact Councillors - Contact MP - Inform Groups
Write Letter - Gather Petition - Organise Protest - Contact Media - Present Case

This may be the most important step to take, because its better to march as an army, than to act alone. Knock on your neighbours' doors, talk to people on the street, put up a notice, pop a leaflet into letter-boxes ... others may share your concerns or opinion. They may not! Either way, you won't know unless you get the information out.

Neighbours may have their own strong opinions, useful skills, energy and resources to contribute.

Organised residents' groups, local and town/city wide, will have experience of planning issues, and their own well-tried procedures for getting their voice heard. Their opinion counts more than those of individuals with the local authority.

Heritage groups may well make a decisive intervention if they think a piece of heritage is threatened or affected, but they can't help if they don't know!
