5. Inform Pressure Groups

All - Inform Others - Organise - Contact Councillors - Contact MP - Inform Groups
Write Letter - Gather Petition - Organise Protest - Contact Media - Present Case

This again, is one of the most important steps you can take. Many heritage or environmental pressure groups will intervene if they believe there's a threat to something in which they take interest ... please see a list of links, with their speciality remits, here. Organised pressure groups can have a significant influence on decisions, because they are seen to be experts, with a semi-objective opinion, rather than 'subjective' local residents. Some groups have a statutory role [they must be consulted ... however, the local authority may not believe so, and since it's so often judge and jury on its own affairs, you'll have the devil's own job persuading them otherwise ... and then it'll be too late!]. If you believe they should be involved, contact them yourself. Then there's no argument!
