Who? Nigel Swettenham The initiator of planningNET is secretary of his local residents' association, and has co-ordinated substantial public campaigns against controversial developments, including a dual carriageway beside the Thames in Reading, and over-development in his current home city of Winchester. He spent 25 years as a journalist and producer in UK and international broadcasting. He's also a working artist and, since creating this resource, a social entrepreneur! Mark Oaten MP Member of Parliament for Winchester since 1997, Mark Oaten is the Liberal Democrat spokesman on Home Affairs, and has spoken extensively on planning. He was Liberal Democrat Chairman between 2001-3, and Home Affairs spokesman 2003-6. Before his election he was a company Director in public relations, and media. Peter Chittick Finance Director of the Soho House Group, and former joint owner of the Hotel du Vin group, which he recently sold, he is Vice Chairman of his local residents' association in Winchester, and an advocate of planning rights. Iain Simpson Chairman of the Wimbledon Park Residents' Association, which is one of the largest in London, covering some 2,400 homes. He is a marketing and business development consultant, and a published author. He is increasingly involved with his local community, on social enterprise and urban regeneration, and is a trustee of Groundwork Merton. Karen Gilchrist A director of a private limited media company, which has a focus on social issues, culture and education, Karen was formerly a trustee of Community Action Hampshire. She had a long battle with planners and environmental health officers over a factory behind her home.
